Founded in 1832, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary is the oldest Catholic institution of higher learning in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

“We are forming leaders for the Church - shepherds for Christ's flock. And your support makes that possible.”

At St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, men preparing for the priesthood respond to God’s call by embracing a life of prayer, sacrifice, and pastoral charity. Through years of spiritual, academic, and pastoral formation, they are shaped into faithful shepherds who will walk with God’s people, lead them in truth, and celebrate the Sacraments. The Seminary’s mission also extends beyond priestly formation—through the Permanent Diaconate Program, men are prepared to proclaim the Gospel and serve at the altar, while the School of Theological Studies equips lay men and women to deepen their faith and lead in their parishes, schools, and communities. None of this is possible without the generosity of faithful Catholics. By supporting the Seminary, you provide tuition, housing, and formation, and you share in the work of the Shepherd—helping to build up the Church and bring Christ to the world.
